New Police Station Opens Officially In La Mesa

DOWNTOWN LA MESA -- City officials and guests from around the county were gathered Friday morning amid a beautiful California morning for the official opening of the city's new police station.

Construction on the new police facility began on Sept. 8, 2008. After two years of construction the building is being opened to the public this weekend.

My Dream of a Park in Downtown La Mesa

When I came to my decision to run for city council, chief among my reasons was a strong desire to make La Mesa all that it can be. Police Seek Man Who Fled Traffic Stop

LAKE MURRAY -- La Mesa police are searching for a man who fled and eluded police after a traffic stop along Lake Murray Boulevard on Sunday.

Police said they are seeking a Michael Penwell (photo below) who fled from a traffic stop where numerous items of stolen property, narcotics and drug paraphernalia were found. Penwell is described as a white male, 25 years old, blond hair, hazel eyes, 5 foot, 7 inches tall, with a thin build and multiple tattoos. He also has a felony parole warrant… Continue
