The Water Conservation Garden, a six-acre conservation demonstration garden in El Cajon, will host a free customer appreciation day for customers of the Helix Water District from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Sunday, July 31. The lights are staying on for patients and medical staff at Sharp Grossmont Hospital in La Mesa thanks to a new Central Energy Plant (CEP), the Grossmont Healthcare District (GHD) reports. And, the hospital’s normal electric bill to San Diego Gas and Electric (SDG&E) of about $180,000 per month is now zero.

Well it's in the books and the City's new community event, "Motoring La Mesa" Classic Cars & Bike Shows, started off with a "Packed House". With the show cancelled last year due to construction with the Street Scape renovation, it is apparent everybody loves this show. The La Mesa Oktoberfest has been a La Mesa Village fall tradition for many years. As the cost of running a city increased with fewer spare dollars to go around, local event organizers were required to pay for the costs of city expenses in producing the event.
