Event Description

The Grossmont Healthcare District’s Dr. William C. Herrick Community Health Care Library, 9001 Wakarusa St. in La Mesa, will host a free senior discussion group on “The Osteopathic Approach to Healthcare,” featuring a presentation from Dr. Donald Adema with Adema Family Medicine of Santee, from 10 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 27. The public is invited to attend. Dr. Adema will discuss the difference between a doctor of osteopathic medicine (D.O.) and a doctor of medicine (M.D.), and the role of general congestion and inflammation in the heart and body and their effect on health. Handouts will be provided and healthy refreshments will be served, according to Kathy Quinn, library director. The Herrick Library, which opened in 2002, is a public library specializing in health research information. It is operated by the Grossmont Healthcare District, a public agency that supports health-related community programs and services in San Diego’s East County. For more information or to RSVP, phone the library at (619) 825‑5010 or visit www.herricklibrary.org.
