Sprinkled with stories and tips (e.g., how to find literary agents), this lecture-workshop is designed to empower and inspire writers. We’ll peek at the book business, check out the pros and cons of traditional vs. electronic and self-publishing, then briefly chat about genres such as memoir and children’s literature, and close with some ideas to help writers get published and sell their work.
Other highlights: writing exercises, our “Editor’s Tips on Craft” segment, and the Q&A session.
$10, no pre-registration needed.
Presenter: Laurie Gibson, the East County editor/proofreader who’s worked with more than 100 first-time authors during the past decade. The award-winning novel "The Color Purple," the WWII memoir of President Herbert Hoover, and several titles by bestselling business author Brian Tracy are examples of her work for publishers.
