A free, two-day program at Mount Miguel Covenant Village will teach older adults how to keep the brain healthy and fit with nutrition and exercise. Presented by Eileen Joseph, a dementia care professional and certified personal trainer, the program is hosted by Mount Miguel Covenant Village, a faith-based, not-for-profit continuing care retirement community located at 325 Kempton St., Spring Valley.

On Tuesday, Feb. 6 at 2:00 p.m., “Keeping Your Brain Young” will focus on maintaining your health to maintain your brain. Learn which steps, and foods, will keep the brain sharp and reduce the risk of age-related memory loss.
On Wednesday, Feb. 7 at 10:30 a.m., “Brain Fitness Workout” will use group interaction to showcase how to stretch and strengthen the brain and body through music, dance and puzzles.
For 15 years, Joseph has served as a staff, resident and family educator and advisor at senior living communities and healthcare organizations. She is a PAC-certified dementia trainer, a clinical social worker and a certified personal trainer with a master’s degree in social work and a bachelor’s degree in psychology.
